'Wolfwhistle Jewellery' are me, Gunilla Karlson, Matilda the Lurcher and Tippi (ChihuahuaXChinese Crested)
Matilda and Merlin (RIP) were the inspiration for the Wolfwhistles - but the hard work is done by me.
Originally from Germany and of Swedish ancestry, I have been in London for twenty years. After Uni I worked first in the music industry and then took centre stage as an actress in various BBC Productions (i.e. with Paul Whitehouse) and feature films like The Beach, with Leonardo DiCaprio.
After the glamour came motherhood and I used this period in my life to retrain as a gold- and silversmith designer/maker.
I have won Best in Metalsmithing at the V&A Museum in 1997 and was Runner Up in Best in PMC, which took my collection to IJL, Earls Court, London.
In 2010 I launched the DarkBird Collection at New Designers at the Islington Design Centre (www.darkbird.yolasite.com) from where it went to the Millenium Gallery in Sheffield in 2011 - where it sold out in a day...
I used to be a regular contributor to Joanne Good's Sunday Live Sessions on BBC London Radio 94.9fm and her show Barking at the Moon (Thursday afternoons).
I have a BA(Hons), fifteen years worth of BTECs and LOCNs, have been a jewellery making teacher and am a Licentiate of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
